The Scream - Laurent Graff

This book showed up on my recommendations from Amazon. I like the painting The Scream, and after read a quick synopsis of the book I decided to try it out. It’s a very short novel, and it feels like it could have started life as some ‘creative writing prompt’ to write a story set in your favorite painting.

It’s like Mary Poppins when they hop into the chalk drawings. What would the world of The Scream be? Why is the man (or woman) screaming? Graff does a great job of telling a suspenseful, dark, and slightly disturbing tale of a Toll Booth worker living in the world of The Scream.

Since it’s so short I don’t want to write too much more, but overall I think it was a fun read.

Round Top Peak

Round Top was only my second 10k peak summit attempt (my first attempt being the nearby Red Lake peak). At Red Lake we were never able to get GPS over 10k ft for some reason. I think we didn’t find the true summit after searching around for a while,

M42 - One year's progress!

Winter has returned, and with it, a chance to look back on the progress I made this year. M42 was one of my very first attempts at astrophotography! This week I was able to capture 57 minutes of exposure with the telescope, thats a huge increase over January’s 34

Tonight I decided to try something a little bit different. I show a wider field image with an 85mm lens instead of the telescope. The coloring is very red, but I’m not sure how much is due to Light Pollution or not. There are definitely some dusty structures visible.
